You know, after reading the actual email, I reckon he seems genuine. I know I haven't met him or anything, but at least it sounds like he's being honest about not having an idea of where he'll be at next year and what that might mean for you both. I reckon he said 'I think' because he's just not sure what the future holds for him in any capacity at the moment.
I say, take the sex and see what happens!
After reading "the" email my thoughts have changed. I'm agreeing with Evol. The "i like i like you too" could mean a lot of things and after last night I think his headspace is all over the shop at the moment.
He was following you like a puppy last night so just keep it going :-)
